Work created by K. Mason (former EPC Art student)
20: Inspired Recreation of an image
The assignment will go like this.....
1. Brainstorm images that you like or images that reflect you as a person….
2. Then using the internet, Google /PhotoBucket (or use another search engine) the name of the image (i.e. I like watching sports. So I would Google, in quotations, “sports +art”.)
3. From that finding, click on the Images tab, and see all of the images that your search resulted in. (i.e. the images search for “sports +art” resulted in 58, 600 images)
4. Find images that appeal to you.
5. Save the images you like on your school drive. Record the artist’s name and the website (important as this is for marks). (i.e. one example based on my “sports +art” idea is: Kay D Art Gallery, artist is Kay Daughdrill, http://www.kaydart.com/images/gallery/SportsArt/Tour-de-France.jpg, image is of a rider in the Tour de France)
6. Pick your favorite image.
7. Print out the image and glue it on your practice/brainstorming sheet… with the artist’s name and website.
8. Using the image, use it as a guideline or inspiration to create that image yourself. It doesn’t have to be the same…. Have it inspire you to create a similar image /style…. there should be some similarity between your end work and the original by the artist)
9. When you are finished the work, it is important to acknowledge the artist who inspired your work. Therefore, under the work write “Inspired by (the artist’s name).”
